Dry Timber Handling
Final Grading and Preparation
After lumber has been kiln-dried, the Dry Timber Handling system takes over to prepare it for its final destination. This crucial stage involves destacking, trimming, and grading the timber to ensure every board meets the required quality and length specifications before being sold or sent for further processing.
Pinnacle SA’s range of dry timber handling equipment is engineered to be robust, reliable, and efficient. Our solutions automate the breakdown of dried lumber packs and provide a streamlined process for final inspection and grading, ensuring your finished product is ready for market.
Our Dry Timber Handling Equipment Range
From breaking down large stacks to the final grading conveyor, our machines work together to create an efficient and orderly workflow.
Destacker
The destacking process begins here. Our range of destackers is designed to efficiently and gently break down large, kiln-dried packs of lumber layer by layer, feeding individual boards into the processing line. We offer several models to suit your specific volume and application needs.
Light Destacker
Perfect for smaller operations or for handling smaller, lighter packs of lumber. The Light Destacker provides a simple, cost-effective, and reliable solution for feeding your trim line.
Giraffe Destacker
For high-volume sawmills, the Giraffe Destacker is the ultimate solution. This heavy-duty machine is designed to handle large, heavy packs of timber (up to 30 Tons) with speed and efficiency, ensuring your high-speed lines are never starved for material.

Trim Deck
Once the boards are singulated, the Trim Deck prepares them for final grading. Multiple saws are positioned along the deck to trim boards to their final, precise lengths and to remove any defects like splits or cracks that may have occurred during drying. This step maximises the value and usability of every piece of lumber.
Green Chain Grading Conveyor
The Green Chain Grading Conveyor is the final checkpoint. This slow-moving, wide conveyor presents the trimmed boards flat, giving graders ample time to visually inspect each piece from all sides. Here, boards are marked and sorted based on their final grade and quality, ensuring customers receive a consistent and reliable product. It’s a simple, effective, and essential tool for quality control.
